The government has stated they will give you 30% back up to $1500 on select Energy Star Rated qualifying equipment .So for example* you can buy a $5000 15 Seer complete system and get $1500 dollars back on your 2009 Taxes. So you are actually paying $3500 for a $5000 system and then you also are getting up to 30% a month savings on your utility bills because these systems are much more efficient then your old equipment. >Well Spring is almost here, so have your Cooling systems checked now, it’s never too late to be safe and efficient.

We have many Specials but our special this month is HVAC tune-ups.

>There are big changes coming in 1/2010 with new EPA rules and regulations regarding the manufacturing and use of the old R22 Freon and this is the last year to be able to purchase R22 based equipment.

What does this mean to you?

It means after 2009 you will no longer be able to just part out or piece your system together by changing just a coil or condenser. The new 410a/Puron Freon is not compatible with the old oils in the R22 and the pressures do not match ,so if you have a condenser go out in 2010 and it has the old r22 Freon in it ,you will be looking at a complete new system instead of just a condenser.

So you have two ways of looking at this,

One, if you already know your system is aged and in need of a replacement then you can still buy this year in order to save some money. You can save money because you can just change the condenser or coil out if that's all you need for less money then a complete new 410A system and/or you can buy a complete R22 system this year for less then a 410a complete system.

Two, A better way to think about this is if you have been looking into new systems because yours is aged and inefficient, then buying the older R22 system this year may not be the most frugal choice even though its a little less expensive.

Why you ask, well because this decision may still be a good one and the r22 may still be able to be serviced, there’s always a chance the service prices are going to go way up and parts maybe hard to come buy as the years pass. So maybe paying a little more up front for the New 410A system now will not only get you in compliance early for the future changeover, it may save you money and headaches in the future.
